MatchMove wins Tripartite Alliance Award for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices

MatchMove is the only fintech startup recognised at the inaugural Tripartite Alliance Award

Singapore, 19 November 2018 – MatchMove, one of the world’s fastest growing and leading fintech companies, is pleased to announce that it has been conferred the Tripartite Alliance Award (Fair and Progressive Employment Practices) by the tripartite partners – Ministry of Manpower, National Trades Union Congress, and Singapore National Employers Federation. The award recognises MatchMove’s efforts in upholding fair, responsible and progressive employment practices. MatchMove is the only fintech company that was recognised at the Tripartite Alliance Award, after months of rigorous audits and checks on the company’s management practices by the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) and external consultants. 

Speaking after the awards ceremony, Ashley Koh, SVP, Business Operations said, “MatchMove advocates ‘management-by-fairness’ as it believes that such an approach will produce ethical behaviour, promote meritocracy and build a collaborative work culture to bring out the best of its talents in the long run. These are crucial for a high growth company as it prepares to increase its global footprint. Contrary to the perception that fintech is typically suitable only for young people and tends to be male-dominated, 30% of MatchMovers in the Singapore office are above 40 years old and over 40% are female.

Nelly Jimron, SVP, Treasury Ops, who joined the company in 2009 as Business Development Manager, is currently spending her four-month paid sabbatical leave at home to assist her son with the preparations of his PSLE examinations and secondary school enrolment. Said Nelly, “I am very grateful to my bosses at MatchMove for giving me a lot of opportunities to learn and contribute my best to the company since its founding days. Whenever my family needs my time and attention, my managers are supportive of my plan to take a break from work while having my job retained. I hope more companies can be empathetic towards their employees’ needs and value them as they progress through the different stages of their lives.”

Anne Teow, Personal Assistant & Travel Specialist, is another staff member who benefits from the company’s positive culture. Anne re-joined MatchMove in June this year after her departure in 2017. She explained, “I decided to go back to MatchMove as I realised that I missed the people, the culture, and even my job at MatchMove.
